The Lockdown Business That Is Going Viral

Rude Cookies make cakes for more unconventional celebrations

By Lucy Podmore

Self-taught baker, Magda and best friend Aga are the women who created the business Rude Cookies by accident during lockdown. Their cookies gained popularity after going viral on social media and from there, their business skyrocketed.

“It was just for fun to entertain ourselves and people on the internet- and then people went crazy.”

Magda and Aga create what it says on the tin, rude cookies. From hearts with cheeky sayings on it to phallic fruit. They also create delicious gooey cookies and seriously stunning personalised cakes. All these items sell out pretty fast and cookies are prepared every day. Recently they have been attending Hillhead Bookclub to sell their hilarious cookies.

“We attract the best kind of people- the feedback is very good.”

They have outgrew their previous bakery due to demand and they are on their way to outgrow their current bakery which is near Rutherglen in an industrial estate Unit 83, 37 Rosyth Rd, Glasgow.
They have just recently purchased another shop in Shawlands and are currently preparing that for opening.

“I think because we are the only business like this where you can give something more personal and funny at the same time.”

They provide cookies and cakes for every occasion just as long as its rude and funny.
