Introducing: Lucette Wood. Journalism Ambassador.

Hello, my name is Lucette Wood, I’m 31 and in my second year of a HND in Practical Journalism. In the future, I hope to do a combination of travel writing, crime and investigative reporting.

After spending over a decade working in an outdoor gear retail store and as a hotel duty manager I decided to go back to education and pursue a career in journalism, which I had always wanted to do but didn’t quite have the confidence.

Currently, I am working on a website I created as part of my Graded Unit covering content on green travel across Scotland as well as writing for the Politics desk for the College’s website, City Live.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, travelling and planning trips, listening to music and true crime podcasts.

Favourite TV show: The Moomins- although it is aimed at children the cartoon is incredibly well written and at times philosophical and humorous.

What I’m currently watching: Finally getting to round to watching Line of Duty! I am also re-watching classic episodes of The Simpsons.

What I’m currently listening to: Voices for Justice- a true-crime podcast that advocates for the families of victims and encourages listeners to become active to help solve cases and raise awareness of issues. I am also listening to Chvrches and Marina’s latest albums.

Favourite motto: More of a quote than a motto. Susan Sontag: I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list.
